Bio
"I’ve always loved to "paint" with sound. Never could imagine doing anything else. I hear a rainbow of colors". Jim Fitzpatrick developed a keen interest in music and electronics as a pre-teen in New York. In high school and afterward, he was the sound engineer for local bands, and eventually with a touring band. Fitzpatrick served as a maintenance engineer and purchasing agent for Record Plant recording studios before moving to Los Angeles in 1976, where he worked at sound facilities such as Cherokee Studios and Westlake Audio. His move to sound for film landed him at Dolby Labs as Film Applications Engineer, and later at Todd AO as an engineer and mixer. Fitzpatrick spent a decade in mixing at Universal, CSS, and Wilshire stages, before coming to Formosa in 2014.
