“You really have to be able to hear and listen. Hearing and distinguishing the sounds that you’re working with. I love the moments when I can provide some guidance that helps the person alone in the booth hit the mark.” With a Bachelor’s of Music degree from USC, Chris Navarro never thought he had an ear for dialogue. But when, on a whim, he interviewed for an Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) recordist position in late summer 2001, he found himself on a path to become one of the most sought-after ADR mixers, validated with three Cinema Audio Society nominations and one win. In a career that spans both features and television, Chris has worked with such iconic directors as Kenneth Branagh, Tim Burton, Alfonso Cuaron, Guillermo Del Toro, Jon Favreau, Peter Jackson Spike Jonze, Terrence Malick, Roman Polanski, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Steve Sodenbergh, Quentin Tarantino and David Zucker.
