“Any sound can be presented in a way to make a narrative more threatening, humorous, intimate, lonely, or any combination of countless sensations. Knowing how to draw a connection for your audience, understanding how to give the proper significance to a sonic event, and having a feel for how plausible or implausible something should be is where the excitement is in manipulating sound.” Josh Sieh’s interest in sound developed while growing up as a child of a music educator in Minnesota. After high school, he pursued his interest in audio engineering at Indiana University, where he earned a BS in Recording Arts with a concentration in Music Composition. He spent several years working a recording engineer in the music industry, both in studios and live events, before moving into post-production as a recordist and mixer on scripted dramatic TV shows.
